"I came to know the work of Elsa Victorios when she exhibited her painting Ways to the Future 3 at The von Liebig Art Center in Naples, Florida. At first glance I noticed her bold use of bright colors in large flat expanses. Then my attention focused on the texturing and the patterned lines that move along the edges. Her abstract paintings are exuberant. Their origins are not immediately evident..... Victorios’ art stems from a long tradition of Spanish painters and is firmly grounded in Spanish culture. With her paintings she speaks to the future. As I contemplate her work, I see links and origins in the past. Victorios paints with the same range of colors as Francisco Goya, she entertains the fantasy of Salvador Dalí and with her brush she recalls the somber, sinuous line of El Greco....
